WhatsApp to stop working on millions of phones this year; check list

WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, has announced that it will no longer support 35 mobile devices running older versions of Google and Apple operating systems.

The decision comes as the company strives to maintain compatibility with a wide range of smartphones, including Android, iOS, and feature phones running alternative OS.

The list of affected devices includes models from prominent manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Sony, LG, and Apple.

While some of these devices may be old, others still have decent hardware or are unable to upgrade, making it surprising that users are still relying on them to access WhatsApp.

To continue using WhatsApp safely, the company recommends that users have a device with Android 5.0 (or later) or an iPhone with iOS 12 (or later). This means that devices running older operating systems will no longer receive updates, leaving them vulnerable to security risks.

Samsung wants to turn your iPhone into a foldable phone

The South Korean tech giant Samsung is targeting Apple users with a unique update to its Try Galaxy app, enabling iPhone users to simulate the experience of using a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold by placing two iPhones side by side. The feature is available on Android phones too, but Samsung just expanded the Try Galaxy app to work on iPhones. The update comes after Samsung launched its latest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, at a high-profile event in Seoul last month. Using the app on your iPhone involves scanning a QR code from Samsung, which is available in the company’s press release. Samsung trolls Apple for ‘Crush!’ in Galaxy Tab S9 Ad

After Apple received flak for the new iPad Pro 2024 commercial, Samsung mocked the technology giant in an Ad for its Galaxy Tab S9. The Ad, shared by Samsung Mobile USA on its Instagram page, shows a woman walking over debris and paint reminiscent of Apple’s “Crush” Ad that saw an industrial press crushing things including books, musical items and paint. The woman is then seen picking up a damaged guitar and begins playing tunes assisted by notes displayed on her Galaxy Tab S9.
