Destiny: Rising mobile game gets release date

Developer NetEase has announced that Destiny: Rising, a mobile-exclusive game, will be launched on both iOS and Android in August. The developer, through a trailer giving a look at the game’s gameplay and visuals, confirmed that the RPG shooter will launch on August 28. The game was announced in October last year, with a planned release date sometime in 2025. After various playtests, NetEase has now announced that Destiny: Rising is set to launch on Android and iOS. While the game includes familiar characters from the Destiny franchise, this new mobile-only adaptation of Bungie’s well-known FPS will not take forward the storyline established in Destiny 2. Intel gets $2 billion lifeline

Intel is getting a $2 billion capital injection from SoftBank Group in a major vote of confidence for the troubled U.S. chipmaker that is in the middle of a turnaround effort. The equity investment, announced by the two companies on Monday, is a lifeline for the once-iconic U.S. chipmaker which has struggled to compete after years of management blunders that left it with virtually no foothold in the booming artificial intelligence chip industry. It will make SoftBank a top-10 shareholder of Intel and add to the Japanese tech investor’s ambitious bet on artificial intelligence that includes the $500 billion Stargate U.S. data center project. The deal follows media reports last week that the U.S. government may buy a stake in Intel, after a meeting between new CEO Lip-Bu Tan and President Donald Trump that was sparked by the President’s demand for Tan’s resignation over his ties to Chinese firms. Titan submersible’s design a primary factor in implosion: report

WASHINGTON, Aug 5: A U.S. Coast Guard investigative board concluded Tuesday that the “inadequate design” of the Titan submersible was a primary contributing factor in its implosion in 2023 that left five people dead including a Pakistani father and son. The Titan was on a tourist expedition to the wreckage of the Titanic – a British passenger liner that sank in 1912, killing at least 1,500 on board – when it lost contact with its support vessel during descent. Its remains were found four days later, littering the seabed about 1,600 feet (488 meters) from the bow of the Titanic wreck.
