ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif on Tuesday said that Pakistan was working towards a balanced space policy, ARY News reported. 

“The policy will protect our national interests and enable us to benefit from rapid advances in private sector such as Starlink etc” he said while chairing a meeting on Pakistan’s National Space Policy.

According to a news release, the meeting discussed in details regarding finalisation of Pakistan’s National Space Policy. Secretary IT Hassan Nasir Jamy was also present at the meeting.

Authorities from SUPARCO, PTA, SIFC and SPD attended the meeting. Additional Secretary MoITT Ms. Aisha Humera Moriani and senior officers of the Ministry were also present.

Earlier, caretaker Minister for Science, Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif says government is making all-out efforts for development of technology sector to uplift the economy.

The Minister said latest technologies would not only be helpful to save time and improve work quality but also uplift the economy of the country.

He stressed that youth must come forward to contribute to the socio-economic development of country.
